I'm a Network Systems Engineer for BT who dabbles with Linux in his spare time.
I've been using Linux for a few years, but not very intensively, so I still feel like a Noob. I started using Linux when I decided to look at building a media centre. The software I picked was broadly Debian based, so I've so far stayed with Debian based distributions as such, I'm starting to play with an Ubuntu desktop.
Linux Systems:
Server:
- Debian Stable (Sarge Currently)
- sFTP (setup using scponly)
- Samba
- MDADM RAID 5 Array
Media Centre:
Knoppmyth (Debian based MythTV distribution)
- Digital terrestrial and analogue TV cards
Router:
- Using my grandfather's old 500Mhz AMD K6-2
