There are 3 ALUG mailing lists at present (all viewable at http://lists.alug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo):
announce info archive - announcements, obviously. Low volume; if you find the main list too noisy but want to know when things are happening, join this list. Note that all posts to announce do get gated to the main list.
main info archive - where it all happens. Anything Linux related is on topic (and frequently other technical topics take place).
social info archive - posts of social relevance, but perhaps fairly non Linux related.
